The Future of AzSEA
The NAEA national board and membership has voted to change the structure of NAEA. These changes will affect every NAEA member as well as AzSEA.
No longer will EA's be required to be members of NAEA in order to belong to a state society or local chapter. State societies have the choice of two structures: either as a "chapter" operated by NAEA staff or as an "affiliate" independent entity, similar to how AzSEA has operated in the past.
If a state society chooses to become a "chapter" of NAEA, the existing state society will follow state law in terminating its corporate existence, dissolving its board and bylaws, settling its affairs and disbursing its financial and other assets. As a "chapter" of NAEA, there would no longer be an "AzSEA".
Arizona members will be able to vote for their choice of structure for AzSEA through an electronic ballot, with the results announced at the annual meeting June 17. So you can make an informed decision about how to vote, here are some explanatory documents:
